Burgundybell

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 37 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many slender, straight stems covered in smooth, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are long and slender with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, very thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of burgundy that gradient shifts to slate at the top, frail and waxy.

In mid-summer it produces many small, green flowers with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like lavender.

It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
The sap is crimson.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
