Crimson Ripper

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its blood red or crimson stem is very thick, and the huge, copper leaves are thick with ripped edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 9 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with petals that are light grey on the underside and purple on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 42 curved petals. They are sturdy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like honeysuckle, and it has very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.

It can survive a very long time without water.
