Bluevine
Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small vine is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 9 feet (2.7 meters) and growing as high as 764 feet (232.9 meters).
It takes 4 months for the slate and cream stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 1 cm (0.4 inches) and remain soft and fleshy.
The long, narrow, leathery leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are found in brown, pale yellow and slate varieties, and have rounded edges.
During late spring, the vine produces large amounts of small blue flowers.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
The leaves have medicinal properties.
