Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for over 3,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 3012 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, dark gray bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pale yellow.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with large amounts of large, copper needles. The needles themselves are light.

In late summer it produces tiny, crimson aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
