Burgundy Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short, burgundy grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The wispy stalks grow in thick clumps that are resistant and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, amber flower.

During the early winter, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
