This copper and caramel moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In rainforests, In heathlands, and On trees.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very flexible.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
