Copperfruit

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, curved trunk covered in silky, dark green bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.

The small handful of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of giant, broad, flat leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are blood red and blood red.

In early spring, it produces bunches of giant, purple blossoms with circular petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

In early winter it produces , circular fruit. The rough blood red skin is tough and inedible, and the soft copper flesh is sweet and powdery. The brown seed is tiny and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
