Caramel Magenta Shrub

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This enormous shrub grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for around 41 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several branched, angular stems covered in smooth, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are long and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, oval-shaped, leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are caramel and magenta, rigid and sticky.

In early spring it produces thousands of medium-sized, grey blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like a newborn baby.

In mid-autumn tiny long, straight fruits ripen. The crispy white skin is delicate and sour, and the crunchy cream flesh is sweet and salty and very dry. The black seed is large and is in the centre of the fruit.

It is suitable for making strong rope
