Bloodvine

This short cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The narrow stem is gray-green, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid blood red spines. The wedge-shaped body is emerald and copper, and is covered in brittle red spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 10 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are lime at the sides and lilac at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 10 years. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight sphere. It has a delicate scent that smells like damp.

The cactus's skin is thick, the violet flesh is rough, and the gold sap is thin.
