Copper-Fruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 80 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in silky, dark green bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of huge, fan-like leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either beige, or silver with brilliant green edges.

In early spring, it produces thousands of giant, yellow blossoms with pleated petals. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like sugar.

In late autumn it produces , oval fruit. The clammy white skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is bland, and the soft silver flesh is overwhelmingly spicy and powdery. The cream seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
