Blue Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, ridged, yellow bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy.

The branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of small, fan-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in bold blue, pink and olive varieties.

In early spring, it produces many tiny, cyan blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like pineapple.

In early winter it produces , circular fruit. The clammy cream skin is thick and sweet and bitter, and the very soft silver flesh is sour and sticky. The subtle red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making strong rope
