Copperwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized tree grows up to 17 meters (55.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 305 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, curved trunk covered in delicate, rough, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the dense wood is copper-coloured.
The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, huge, fan-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either grey or blue, with lime streaks.
In early spring, it produces balls of medium-sized, intense blue blossoms with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like ashes.
In late summer it forms tiny, yellow, shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
Before maturity, it can grow 0 per day.
