Grayfern

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On rotten logs, In bogs, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly resilient; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.
