Aquamir Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, curved trunk covered in thick, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The sparse patches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, perforated leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are magenta on the edges and orange at the center.

In early spring, it produces several giant, grey blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like musk.

In late summer it produces small, long, curved fruit. The clammy aquamarine skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is very savoury and oily. The hazel seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
