Copperbrush

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 106 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several sturdy, straight stems covered in very thick, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of small, finger-like, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are bronze on the sides and vibrant orange at the center, strong and sticky.

It produces copious amounts of large, olive flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like musk. In late winter it forms tinyred seed pods.
