Grass type: Perennial (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This small, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in extensive patches that are light and frail.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, blood red tuft.

During the early autumn, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with plenty of medium-sized grains.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
