Bloodvine

This big leaf succulent grows up to 85 feet (25.9 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is pink-red, and is covered in many rigid blood red spines. The stocky leaves are found in orange and magenta varieties. Sparse amounts of them grow on thin, green branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are flexible, and do not detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are olive at the sides and indigo at the center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of several raised, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like rotting meat.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the copper flesh is slimy, and the amber sap is thin.
