Bloodvine
Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)This big shrub grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for around 19 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has numerous thick, straight stems covered in very thick, cracked, white with black speckled bark, and the wood inside is gray.
The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of large, long, tapering, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red, or azure with pink zig-zags, sturdy and rough.
In late spring it produces copious amounts of giant, white flowers with shield-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like old books.
