Greybell Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in smooth, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with thick bunches of giant, wispy leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are grey on the sides and white at the center.

In early spring, it produces several small, deep orange blossoms with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like misty mornings.

In early autumn it produces very large, 7-shaped fruit. The hairy light grey skin is thick and sweet, and the soft grey flesh is sweet and oily. The dark grey seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
