Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores.
