Silversage

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 150 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of stocky, straight stems covered in fine, silky, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of small, needle-like, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally light grey, resilient and smooth.

It produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, lilac flowers with finger-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like coffee. In late summer it forms giantorange, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
