Waterleaf Tree

This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 148 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in very thick, rough, dark gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The sparse amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of soft, large, thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to red at the top.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, black, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
