Coniapple

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 16 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in delicate, cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is white.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with large amounts of miniature, very thin leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either lime or orange, with hazel streaks.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, olive blossoms with needle-like petals. They detach easily and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like petrol.

In early summer it produces tiny, circular fruit. The sticky lilac skin is tough and sweet, and the crunchy white flesh is sweet and dry. The cream seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
