Clinging Conifer

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 45 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous very thick, straight stems covered in hard, knobbly, dark green bark, and the wood inside is black with white speckles.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, perforated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red, or purple with cyan zig-zags, rigid and rough.

It produces lots of tiny, lime flowers with 6 kidney-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like pepper. In late winter it forms smallvibrant orange, tough-shelled seeds.
