Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In damp forests, In moorlands, and In bogs.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is overwhelmingly light; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
