Copperfern

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 23 years. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, straight stems covered in fine, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of miniature, long, tapering, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are orange-yellow with blood red tips, durable and leathery.

In early summer it produces a handful of medium-sized, blood red flowers with circular petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like burning wood.

It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
