Violet

This giant fruit tree grows up to 66 feet (20.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wavy trunk covered in wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pine-coloured.

The excessive amount of branches are very long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of giant, slender, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are found in violet and cyan varieties.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, lime blossoms with many layers of petals. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cherry.

In late autumn it produces very large, cross-shaped fruit. The sticky brilliant yellow skin is stretchy and inedible, and the slightly crunchy cyan flesh is extremely salty and dry. The white seeds are large and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
