Indigo Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is pale yellow, and is covered in handfuls of flexible lilac spines. The toothed-edged, asymmetrical leaves are gold on the sides and indigo at the center. Handfuls of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are rigid, but take little effort to detach.

It is quick growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are pink on the underside and crimson on the top grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 curved petals. It has an intense scent that smells like cheese.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the yellow flesh is rubbery, and the cream sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
