Copper Creeper

This massive creeper is a slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 946 feet (288.3 meters) and growing as high as 883 feet (269.1 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.

It takes 34 years for the copper stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 2.8 feet (84 cm) and are smooth and slick.

The very thin, smooth leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are solid beige or slate, with bright blue splotches, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces handfuls of tiny bold yellow flowers.
