Bluebell

Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 2.8 feet (86 cm) tall. Its hazel stem is thick and splits into 3 branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the giant, gray-green leaves are sickle shaped with serrated edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two medium-sized flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 55 cm (21.7 inches) wide, with petals that are generally pale blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is largely flat with 32 widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.

It has the faintest scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has lots of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for making paper
