Bluespot Fruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 35 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, burgundy bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow-brown.

The abundance of branches are very short and thin and are covered with large amounts of miniature, thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid beige or slate, with bright blue splotches.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, washed-out green blossoms with fan-like petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like ashes.

In late summer it produces , stiff, pointed fruit. The rubbery cyan skin is delicate and inedible, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is bitter and juicy. The light grey seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
