Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thick, and the tiny, copper or green leaves are umbrella-shaped with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide, with copper petals and a yellow center. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are hardy.
It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
