Bluebell Sagebrush

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 185 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of flexible, straight stems covered in thick, cracked, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of large, slender, pointed, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the edges and sky blue at the center, robust and leathery.

In late spring it produces large amounts of large, magenta blossoms with 6 pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like leather.

In late autumn small oblong fruits ripen. The smooth blood red skin is peel-able and spicy and sour, and the soft olive flesh is sweet and bitter and juicy. The florescent red seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
