Grass type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This colossal, black grass grows up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stalks grow in thick clumps that are flimsy and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, cream tuft.
During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
