Crimson Succulent

This modest-sized caudiciform grows up to 49 feet (14.9 meters) tall. The very narrow, elongated stem is olive or light grey, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid brown spines. It has a crooked, thick, crimson trunk atop a very thick ball of rough, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and white and trail down towards the ground.

The jagged-edged, thick leaves are either slate, or faded yellow with yellow edges. They are frail, and detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 13 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid purple petals and a brown central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of raised narrow petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like vomit.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the drab orange flesh is slimy, and the drab orange sap is thin.
