Twisting Silver
Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large shrub grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for around 38 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has dozens of branched, twisting stems covered in paper-thin, knobbly, dark brown bark, and the wood inside is brown.
The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of tiny, slender, pointed, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of silver that gradient shifts to green at the top, tough and waxy.
It produces large amounts of medium-sized, cyan flowers with perforated petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like cheap aftershave. In late summer it forms giantdrab green, shelled seeds.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It commonly grows in large patches.
