Bronzevine

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 23 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, wonky stems covered in thick, cracked, brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are very short and thick with dozens of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are bronze at the bottom and green with cyan zig-zags at the top, frail and soft.

In mid-summer it produces many tiny, green blossoms with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like honeysuckle.

In mid-autumn large stiff, pointed fruits ripen. The clammy pastel blue skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft blood red flesh is spicy and sticky. The dark brown seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.
