Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
