Copperleaf

This short leaf succulent grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall. The very thick stem is gray, and is covered in handfuls of rigid red spines. The pointed leaves are either azure, or pale purple with light yellow streaks. Small amounts of them grow on slender, copper branches that are very short and thick. The leaves are sturdy, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 28 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are amber on the edges and green at the center grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like alcohol.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the lime flesh is rubbery, and the brown sap is thin.
