Bronze Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 38 feet (11.6 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is bronze or caramel, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid gentle orange spines. The rounded leaves are found in caramel, lime and drab purple varieties. Very large amounts of them grow on thin, gray-green branches that are tall, rigid and upright. The leaves are flimsy, but detach easily.

It is very slow growing, taking 34 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with intense blue petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 33 curved petals. It has a soft scent that smells like roses.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the white flesh is slimy, and the purple sap is thin.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
