Blue Shrub

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 108 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of sturdy, straight stems covered in very thick, waxy, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with large amounts of large, spear shaped, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of dull blue that gradient shifts to slate at the top, durable and rough.

In mid-spring it produces large amounts of tiny, magenta flowers with spear shaped petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an intensely strong scent that smells like grass cuttings.
