Azureberry Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in delicate, ridged, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pale yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of miniature, wispy leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are azure on the sides and silver at the center.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, magenta blossoms with 5 heart-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like cotton.

In late summer it produces , long, curved fruit. The crispy blue skin is stretchy and edible when cooked; it is bitter, and the crunchy azure flesh is savoury and very juicy. The washed-out red seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
