Bronze

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The tapering stem is gray-green, and is covered in thick sheets of rigid bronze spines. It has a straight, narrow, lime trunk atop a narrow tripod of knobbly, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and lime green and are short stubs.

The tattered-edged, long, tapering leaves are cream and lilac. They are sturdy, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with alternating petals of cyan and amber, with a vivid orange central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 53 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like rotten meat.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the bright purple flesh is sticky, and the grey sap is thin.
