Pineblood Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 45 meters (147.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 160 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thick, rough, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.

The sparse amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of smooth, giant, slender, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are generally faded green.

In late summer it forms small, deep red, shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
