Crimson Hazelvine

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 20 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in hard, cracked, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches trail down across the ground with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of large, very narrow and elongated, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are hazel and crimson, sturdy and crispy.

In late summer it produces a handful of large, green flowers with 6 heart-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a faint scent that smells like lemon.
