Aquafruit Tree

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 17 feet (5.2 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 47 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of large, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in blue, azure and brilliant yellow varieties.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of large, gold blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are hardy and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like petrol.

In early summer it produces , long, narrow fruit. The soft azure skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy beige flesh is spicy and powdery. The washed-out orange seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
