Blueberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 38 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, wavy trunk covered in ridged, brown-green bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with handfuls of giant, thick leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in pink and yellow varieties.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of medium-sized, olive blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a strong scent that smells like bleach.

In early winter it produces small, long, curved fruit. The rough purple skin is delicate and salty, and the soft deep blue flesh is sweet and sour and dry. The caramel seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
