Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is red, and is covered in sharp spines. The thick leaves are a shade of red that gradient shifts to lime at the top. Very large amounts of them grow on wide, faded green branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are delicate, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with alternating petals of silver and azure, with a peach central disk grows at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 35 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like rainy days.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the olive flesh is smooth, and the hazel sap is thin.
