Bronzeberry

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 50 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in hard, cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale yellow.

The numerous branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of giant, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in hazel and bronze varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, amber blossoms with umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like a woman.

In early winter it produces large, fan-like fruit. The soft deep purple skin is tough and spicy and salty, and the very soft brown flesh is sweet and oily. The pale green seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
