It is steady-growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid indigo petals decorated with olive lines and a copper central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has an overpowering scent that smells like apple.
The cactus's skin is thick, the aquamarine flesh is rubbery, and the bronze sap is thin.
It is suitable for making strong rope
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
